The cd GUITAR COLLECTION is a collection of highlights from the repertoire of solo music for guitar. The beautiful Mozart-variaties of Fernando Sor and the world famous Recuerdos de la Alhambra of the romantic Francisco Tàrrega are being varied by the swinging South American Preludio and Chôro of Heitor Villa Lobos and the sensitive and virtuoso La Catedral of Barrios. The final: the well known Greensleeves in sparkling new variations!
On the cd IBERIA a programme of Spaanse guitar music is recorded. The flashing Folias of Gaspar Sanz, the grandioso Grand Solo of Fernando Sor will astonish you with the instrumental possibilities of the guitar. The oriental Danza Mora of Francisco Tárrega, the famous Asturias of Isaac Albéniz, the retiring Zarabanda Lejana of Rodrigo (Aranjuez!) and the flamenco Sevillana of Joaquin Turina produce a sublime soundscape of Spain.
The cd ‘Collector’s Item’ has beautiful titles as O Sole Mio and La Paloma. In the tradition of arrangements from the classical and popular genre, after the example of Tàrrega, Ari Gitari (Royal Conservatory) also plays repertoire from the twentieth century, like Gymnopedie and Summertime. Film music is represented on the cd in titles as Moon River, Exodus, Love Story and popular music in Nights in White Satin, Michelle and Eleanor Rigby. Original repertoire for guitar is also present on the cd: Petenera, Sons de Carilhôes, Manha di Carnival.

On the new cd ‘Atahualpa Yupanqui Instrumental’ of Ari van Vliet most of the repertoire of this Argentine guitarist-folklorist is recorded. Boisturous rhythms are in contrast to intense emotions, cheerfulness and subtlety, being undertoned by deep melancholy. The music of the chacarera and the milonga, the zamba and the carnavalito, resonate in the infinite splendour of the Southamerican countryside.
